Penn Bus East & Penn Bus West: Operate Monday - Friday from 5pm - 12am, year-round except for holidays observed by the University of Pennsylvania. Passengers from Penn, Drexel, and the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) need only show a valid institutional ID to ride Penn Bus for free. Penn Bus will pick up and deliver passengers only at designated Transit Stops on campus, and at certain intersections with a stop sign or traffic light along its off-campus route.
LUCY Gold & Green Buses: This SEPTA-run shuttle bus is free to students and employees of University of Pennsylvania, Penn Medicine, University City Science Center, and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. All others can ride with Trans or TrailPass, transfers, or $2.50 bus fare. LUCY has a wheelchair lift and two wheelchair tie-downs per bus.
The LUCY shuttle runs every 5 to 30 minutes from 6:10 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, except major holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day).
SEPTA Bus Lines: Numerous bus lines are available that service the greater Philadelphia area and beyond.

On-Demand Shuttles: Shuttles provide free transportation to and from campus Transit Stops and West Philadelphia, Center City, and Powelton Village, within defined boundaries. Penn Shuttles run 6pm - 3am seven days a week, year round except for Penn-recognized holidays. Riders from Penn, University of the Sciences and University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) can use the shuttle services when they present their institutional ID card. Passengers may take shuttles from on-campus transit stops to off-campus locations and vice versa, and off-campus spots to another destination off campus. Penn Transit also offers limited on call shuttle and early morning service.

Greyhound Bus Lines: From the Greyhound Bus Station at 10th and Filbert streets, walk to the Jefferson Station (formerly Market East station) at 11th and Market streets. From there, take the R1 Airport, R2 Marcus Hook-Wilmington, or R3 Media-Elwyn Regional Rail line to the Penn Medicine Station. A taxi ride from the Greyhound Bus station costs about $12.
Rail
The Greater Philadelphia area has several major rail transportation networks:
SEPTA, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, serves Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties.
Within the city of Philadelphia, subways, trolleys and subway-surface cars offer accessible transportation.
Regional Rail lines connect the outlying counties, as well as the States of DE an NJ, with downtown. This is also know as the commuter rail.

AMTRAK is a major rail system traveling to over 500 destinations in 46 states.
The main Amtrak Station in Philadelphia, called Penn Station-30th Street, is located at 30th and Market Streets. Buses and trolleys on Penn campus all stop at 30th Street. Taxi service is available from Penn Station.
New York City, Washington DC and Boston are just a few of the major cities that are AMTRAK destinations from Philadelphia.

New Jersey PATCO Trains
Take the PATCO line to 8th and Market streets. Follow the underground concourse to the SEPTA Jefferson Station (formerly Market East station). From there, the R1 Airport, R2 Marcus Hook-Wilmington, and R3 Media-Elwyn Regional Rail lines provide direct service to the Penn Medicine Station on the Medical Center campus. Or you may transfer from PATCO at 8th and Market streets to the SEPTA Market/Frankford Blue Line (the elevated train/subway). Take the westbound train to 34th and Market streets.

The Philadelphia International Airport is the closest airport that services all major airlines. Public transportation between Center City Philadelphia and the airport is provided via the SEPTA Airport Regional Rail line.
